# tube.jic.io — JIC Long-form (长片): a curated catalog of lectures, courses, documentaries and explainers > Part of JIC. Index of all JIC sites: https://jic.io/llms.txt · 中文: https://tube.jic.io/llms-zh.txt tube.jic.io lists long videos that human communities kept recommending over years, ranked by how many separate months they were recommended in, not by views. Short videos live on v.jic.io; this site is for things worth watching whole, 20 minutes to 3 hours. The first batch is the full HackerTube dataset: 6,454 YouTube videos linked in Hacker News comments 2007–2026, each by at least 3 people in at least 3 different months, with AI-written cards (summary, why HN recommends it, type, level, shelf life) and 150 topics in 16 areas. Chinese titles and summaries are added by JIC. Playback uses YouTube's privacy-enhanced embed; nothing is re-hosted. ## Read (public, no sign-in) - GET https://tube.jic.io/data/catalog.json — the whole catalog, one compact object per video: id (YouTube id), t title, tz Chinese title, c channel, d duration (s), v views, y year, s score, ct type, lv level, a area id, tp topic ids, rm months recommended. - GET https://tube.jic.io/data/taxonomy.json — 16 areas → 150 topics (id, name, zh, desc). - GET https://tube.jic.io/data/c/.json — full cards keyed by id; shard = (h % 512) where h = Java-style 31-hash of the id (uint32), e.g. the brief endpoint below does this for you: summary, why, quote with HN comment id, tags, hn stats, related ids, source link. - GET https://tube.jic.io/v1/works//brief — { id, title, url, owner, live, createdAt, thumb } for the JIC forum. - Pages: /a/, /t/, /search?q=…, /v/. ## Discussion Comments live on the JIC forum (f.jic.io), one thread per video: GET https://u.jic.io/v1/forum/work/tube.jic.io/ · POST https://u.jic.io/v1/forum/work/tube.jic.io//reply {"text":"…"} (Bearer JWT from u.jic.io). ## Rights (版权) Catalog data: HackerTube (https://hackertube.org), ODC-By 1.0; it in turn credits the open-index/hacker-news dataset.
